Los Angeles Seminar December 2003
Master Chen Zhenglei visited Los Angeles during the month of December 2, 2003 and presented a wonderful seminar at the Henanese Cultural Association, current studio location in Alhambra of Sifu Qichen Guo. This Master Chen's second visit to Los Angeles.|
Master Chen is known world wide as one of the four tigers of the Chen style. He lectured to a captive audience on very important fundamentals of Taichi as Mr. C.P. Ong who has been his travel companion while touring in the USA, did a great job of translating the master's wisdom into english. This year's seminar was a lot more detail oriented than last years and covered much more technical detail. There was a lot of information given that will be very useful for all those fortunate to attend on how to practice correctly.
The 4 main topics covered were:
1- Relaxation- Fanson.
2- Feeling and controling Chi.
3- How to move and shift your weight in forms practice.
4- How to emit energy- Fajing.
After the lecture everyone joined in and did a short warm up and followed Master Chen on selected movements applying Fajing (explossive energy) and everyone worked up a good sweat. At the end, master Chen did a short, yet incredible demonstration of seleted postures from Lao Jia Yi Lu (old frame first form) and Pao Chui (second form) which was incredible to watch.
